Opening in 2026, Podere SAN LORENZO is a reimagined unique 12th-century farmhouse, a luxury Tuscan villa renewal project for good food, good wine and memorable holidays shared with friends and family.
ABOUT THE FARMHOUSE
A Romanesque-style ‘Church of SAN LORENZO a Strada’ forms the heart of this unique structure dating back to 1189. Originally it was used for religious purposes, it later lost its conventional purpose and became a farmhouse. Over the centuries parts were added to create the unique ‘stratified’ identity which now allows us to reimagine the spaces into an exclusive 6 guest room luxury villa hotel.
We will cater for your dinner requests in our farm-to-table garden kitchen. Social gathering and event spaces will be created within the chapel and around the pool area.

SENSE OF PLACE
An intimate private setting blending into a natural surrounding. Three structures connected over centuries have organically been united into a coherent structure evoking the atmosphere of an intimate guest house.
Our partners working on the architecture and design concept, engineering, landscaping and the construction are all passionate about the Tuscan traditions and take great care within the process to preserve and enhance local tradition.
OUR EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Our farm has 1100 olive trees mostly consisting of three typical Tuscan varieties. Frantoio is a delicate bitter flavor, Leccino is very aromatic and Moraiolo has a fresh fragrant character, slightly spicy.
In a good year we can produce up to 3000 litres of top quality Organic Certified EVOO.
We pick our olives rather early. The earlier you pick the olives the more intense flavours are.
Learning about the olive trees and tasting Italy’s olive oil is a special experience we will offer once we are up and running.
TASTING TUSCANY
We are passionate about food and we love wines. We plan to offer a delicious spread of Tuscan delicacies, seasonal and regional products. We take pride in using produce from our own bio vegetable garden and from our trusted local partners.
As part of our bespoke service offer we will prepare your dinner options according to your personal preferences. Our dishes will be classic, simple and well-known.
We will offer our guests a very special opportunity to taste some of the best Tuscan wines and discover some of the best unknown labels in the region.
VOLTERRA
Visiting Volterra is taking a step back into time. It is primarily an Etruscan and medieval art centre. The city showcases the remains of Etruscan walls enlarged in the 4th and the 3rd centuries BC. The Guardnacci Etruscan Museum contains a notable collection of Etruscan art. Priori Palace (1208-57) is the oldest communal palace in Tuscany. Volterra’s traditional industries are the extraction and artistic manufacture of alabaster and the preparation and drying of salt.
Experience the impressive sight – the ancient Roman Theatre of Volterra – one of the biggest and best conserved ones in Italy. It was uncovered in the 1950’s during archeological excavations of the ancient Roman city.
